How does the daily puzzle work?

Every day at midnight (your local time) a new hand-curated shape unlocks. Draw a single straight cut across the shape; your goal is to split it as close as possible to the displayed target ratio (e.g. 60:40). You get one attempt. Your precision score and grade are revealed immediately after you lift your finger, and you can share your result as an image.

I missed a day — can I play yesterday's puzzle?

No. Each puzzle is available for exactly one calendar day. This is intentional — it keeps the daily-cut format fair for everyone. Previous puzzles are not available for replay.

What is Freeplay mode?

Freeplay lets you practise cutting shapes without the daily restriction. You can cut as many shapes as you like, see the Ghost Area band (the range of cuts within ±2 % of the target), and build your intuition before the next daily cut.

How do I restore my "Remove Ads" purchase?

Go to Settings → Restore Purchases inside the app and tap the Restore button. Make sure you are signed into the same App Store / Google Play account used for the original purchase. The entitlement should restore within a few seconds. If it does not, email us with your order reference number.

How do I request a refund for "Remove Ads"?

How do I turn off daily reminder notifications?

Go to Settings → Notifications inside the app and disable reminders. You can also manage Cleave's notification permissions through your device's system Settings → Notifications → Cleave.

How do I delete my data?

Because Cleave stores only an anonymous device identifier with your scores (not your name or email), we cannot look up your records without a device-specific identifier. To request deletion, email youssefchajia62@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Please include the anonymous ID visible in Settings → Privacy → Device ID, and we will delete all associated records within 30 days.

Uninstalling the app removes all locally cached data from your device immediately.

What is the Ghost Area band?

The Ghost Area is a semi-transparent band overlaid on the shape after you cut. It shows the range of all straight cuts whose resulting split falls within ±2 percentage points of the target ratio — essentially, the "zone of near-perfect" cuts. The closer your cut line is to the centre of the Ghost Area, the higher your precision score.

The app crashes / won't load today's puzzle

First, make sure you have an internet connection — today's puzzle is fetched from our servers once per day. If the problem persists:

  1. Force-close and relaunch the app.
  2. Check that you have the latest version installed.
  3. If the issue continues, email us at youssefchajia62@gmail.com with your device model and OS version.
